The Duo double bass and piano formed by Sergio Grazzini and Raffaella Zagni is an unusual and rarely concert ensemble. 
The sound's characteristics of the solo double bass distance themselves from the usual sound of the orchestral double bass. Being tuned a tone higher than the normal tuning, the sound of the solo double bass is closer to the sound of the "ancient violone" and plays with a timbre that ranges from baritone to soprano, all supported by the extraordinary quality of the natural harmonics of which this big instrument is rich.
The piano, with the fascinating sounds that only this instrument can produce, blends beautifully with the solo double bass, creating a special timbre that envelops, surprises and enchants the listener, let him excited about the sound mix of this ensemble.
The repertoire of our Duo has no real limits but ranges from classical pieces for double bass and piano until the interpretation of every kind of music as Tango, popular dances, soundtracks, variations on themes of Opera, elaborations of original pieces for other instruments where the double bass' sound is a rainbow full of invention and extraordinary sounds.
